![]() | Meet Michelle, Michelle grew up in country Victoria and enjoyed being in the outdoors. Before deciding on her carer path, she was a Learn to Swim Instructor, Lifeguard and Outdoor Adventure Guide and enjoyed kayaking, underground caving, hiking, camping and multi pitch abseiling courses. She also enjoyed a good bike ride – motorised or manual. Her favourite time of the year was winter where she got to slice up the hillside on her skies or snowboard and snuggle up next to the fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa. Michelle's Occupational Therapy carer started in 2014 when she graduated with a bachelor's degree from Deakin University in Geelong. She first worked for a company supporting small children with Cerebral Palsy in a 12-month graduate position. Here she developed her skill set for evaluation and scripting of specialised equipment. From there, Michelle transitioned to working in Early Intervention Services and Special School Education Supports. It was here she developed a passion for outreach services and supported a range of young people with physical needs, cognitive impairments, and neurodiversity. Michelle has worked in clinical settings for a short time while starting a family of her own, however, quickly returned to being out on the roads. Michelle started at On Track Healthcare in September 2022 and consults with a range of young persons and adults in her role as an Occupational Therapist. The most rewarding part of her job is working closely with families and being a part of positive life changing moments. |
